Credentials Overview

Credentials play a critical role in authenticating and authorizing the Backflipt platform, enabling secure interactions with external applications on behalf of users or workflows. By adding credentials, the integration process verifies the identity of the Backflipt platform, ensuring authorized access to the integrated services.

When configuring new integrations or services, you need to provide the correct credentials for authentication. When creating a new flow, Backflipt platform will authenticate with the associated credentials for seamless integration. This step ensures that the flow is correctly authenticated and authorized to access the required services or applications.

In addition to new integrations, you have the option to add extra credentials for existing integrations, enabling the management of multiple authentication configurations for the same integration. Credentials can be imported and exported across tenants.

Each credential is specific to the associated API, which means the Salesforce credential cannot be used interchangeably with a database credential or any other API credential.

The different authentication types supported on the Backflipt platform are:

  • Basic
  • O-Auth v2
  • API Key
  • DB Connection
  • Custom Authentication
